About
S/V Vista Vida is a 2007 Privilege 495 Owners Version catamaran. She has never been chartered and had all major systems refit for its next owner to sail away with confidence for both coastal cruising and blue water ocean crossings.
The Privilege 495 is known for its sleek design, aviation style salon windows, extra-long sugar scoops, aggressive sail plan, beautiful, crafted woodwork throughout and its HUGE owners cabin that stretches from hull to hull.
Privilege catamarans are not built for the charter industry, instead each boat is individually tailored to the owner every one of them a statement in itself: luxury on the ocean, superb stability, reliability, safety, performance and durability.
On the exterior, Privilege features its recognizable sleek aviation style windows and low freeboard. Inside, its finishes, and workmanship resemble ancient craftmanship that you no longer see on the newer boats that have all gone with the modern, RV style look and quality.
Privilege was created in 1985 by internationally renowned sailor Phillipe Jeantot (founder of the Vendee Globe yacht race). Based on his unequalled ocean sailing experience and profound understanding of the dynamics of ocean conditions, particularly for sailing vessels versus hull design, Jeantot set out to design catamarans who would set a new benchmark in the world of multihull sailing. Jeantot had an obsession for perfection which applied from construction quality and stability, while maintaining comfort, luxury, livability, durability and without compromising on performance. This is surprisingly outstanding for a yacht without daggerboards, but which elongated transoms improves upwind sailing performance, as well as minimize the dreaded hobby-horsing in a short chop typical of more stubby modern multihull designs.
We purchased our lagoon 410 through the multihull company, Andrew Hodgdon was the listing’s broker. From the start till the end of the process he was upfront honest and accommodating. Our situation was unique and required a bit more leg work. Andrew was always easy to get a hold of and willing to help. It was a pleasure working with a highly knowledgeable broker that values integrity. I highly recommend him.
My experience with Andrew Hodgdon was entirely positive during the selling process of our used catamaran.
He followed up at every stage, organized successful showings, and explained in detail the closing process.
I am happy to give a 10 out of 10 review.
We purchased our Balance 442 through TMC, Andrew Hodgdon in the St Augustine office, and the experience was excellent. We had a couple last minute issues like incorrect hull ID on docs, and they quickly ran point to get this all taken care of to help us close on time. It was all especially impressive given that most of this was happening during the end of year holidays. Good team, good follow up. Recommended.
Working with Andrew Hodgdon at The MultiHull Company was a great experience. Andrew has years of experience in the multihull market, especially performence catamarans and was the Technical Director at Balance Catamarans for many years. He’s always available to talk, guide and advise. He’s easy to work with, is extremely knowledgeable, and has a very pleasant way about him. I would highly recommend Andrew to help in your sale or purchase of any multihull.
