About
Major price reduction!
You will not find a better deal on an epoxy / carbon fiber construction vessel of this size. It would cost more than twice as much as the current asking price to build this vessel new!
Lyra Noa is a Balance 601 that is built of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy e-glass construction. She was stretched on the sterns to become a custom Balance 64. She was designed and crafted specifically for the owner of Nexus Yachts, who builds the Balance 526, 580 and 620. He built her for himself as an offshore adventure cat for surfing, fishing and diving charters. With 6 double cabins and all of the serious gear one needs for fishing, diving and off-the-grid adventures, she is a unique performance sailing catamaran unlike all others.
Lyra Noa, like all of our larger Balance cats, is designed and built of a carbon reinforced, foam core, total epoxy construction. She is light, strong, and exceptionally fast yet has the capacity to carry significant cruising payloads. She was launched in 2019 in Saint Francis, South Africa, and due to the pandemic, her owner was unable to use her as planned. He then eventually decided to sail her to the Cape Verde Islands for a fishing expedition. That mission was called short due to the rapid expansion of Balance Catamarans and the need for him to return to Saint Francis to oversee the third factory expansion in three years.
Lyra was then sailed to Panama and it was decided to put her up for sale as her owner has three years of a busy build schedule to oversee and no longer has the time to sail her or manage the adventure charter operation he first envisioned. Lyra Noa arrived in Florida in December 2022 for inspection and sale.
The owner of the boat is a lifetime seaman and in addition to owning the company that built her, owns and operates a fleet of fishing boats. Lyra Noa is reflective of his deep pool of experience sailing and operating boats in the rough waters of South Africa. He knows how to build a catamaran, how to fit one out, how to make a performance catamaran capable of off-the-grid adventuring. So while it is the case that Lyra Noa is a "charter boat" (because she has 6 double cabins) she is anything but typical of a charter boat - she is fast, she is robust, she is equipped and designed to go just about anywhere and sustain herself. She'll do windspeeds reaching in 8 knots of breeze, but can still carry a big genset, dive compressor, dive tanks, fishing gear, etc. etc. And a large center console tender.
Lyra Noa is ideal for a family who really loves to sail! She is safe and comfortable offshore while still capable of achieving 300nm days. She is the perfect expedition vessel for a family to explore the world or ideal for an adventure charter operator to perform charters where the typical charter cat just couldn't cut it. She can handle a blow, she can sail to windward, she will be comfortable riding over big sloppy seas, she will reduce passage times, burn less fuel, and be easier to care for and maintain than any other cat with her level of gear and systems. She's a very, very special cat.
To learn all about her feel free to email us or give us a call. She can be shown at any time in Cape Canaveral, FL where she is presently hauled out for annual maintenance.

My wife and I worked with Andrew Hodgdon to sell our 2021 FP Elba 45. In addition to skillfully carrying out the traditional yacht broker responsibilities, Andrew went above-and-beyond to ensure that we were well-positioned to sell in a competitive market. For example, Andrew helped out with much-appreciated repairs and hurricane prep, among other things. Trustworthy, intelligent, and conscientious, Andrew’s communications with us and the buyer were always thoughtful and forward-thinking, and fairly represented our interests.
We really lucked out in connecting with The Multihull Company. We made a cold call to Cynthia Wummer, a Multihull Company broker and told her we wanted to buy a catamaran to cruise The Great Loop and experience the Bahamas. We particularly wanted a PDQ power catamaran. From our first contact she was so helpful and responsive. She immediately contacted a selling broker who represented a prospective seller. Because we are new to a bigger boat and boating on the ICW, Cynthia assisted us through the entire process. She is a captain which was an added bonus to the process; she knew all the right questions to ask the selling broker as well as the surveyor. She drove 3 hours to be present during the survey, she developed a good relationship with the selling broker, she called and checked in with us regularly, was very enthusiastic about our purchase, and answered all our questions. We could not have done it without her. The Multlihull Company support team, Andrew Holland and Courtney Greider, were so helpful in the closing process: the paperwork was easy to complete and communication was smooth and timely. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Multihull Company and Cynthia to anyone who is the market for a boat large or small. Thank you!!!!
