Hazey Daze | 2001 Voyage Maxim

Pensacola, FL, US

About

Hazey Daze has served her owners (married couple) for the last two years wonderfully as they cruised the Bahamas, Florida Keys, east coast of The States, Northern Caribbean, and Gulf coast. She just recently made the passage across the Gulf to Pensacola to be listed with us. The greatest attribute of Hazey Daze are the particulars and meticulous work ethic of her owners. The owners have made sure to keep all her systems modernized and serviced in order to feel confident offshore and at anchor. She is totally ready for her next adventure. See the recent upgrades and Inventory List for specifics.

Inventory List

S/V Hazey Daze is a 2001 Voyage 380 Maxim Catamaran

This catamaran owner requires financial settlement only.

Current owners note: We purchased Hazey Daze in November of 2022 and implemented major electrical upgrades. We’ve spent two wonderful Dec-May seasons on her in the Bahamas with no issues. Regrettably, circumstances have changed with our families back home in Kentucky that no longer allow our extended times away. Rather than have her sit idle, we’d rather she enjoy continued use and have decided to sell.

S/V Happy Daze is a 2001 Maxim 380 Owner’s Version Cruising Catamaran. Maxims were designed by Alex Simonis, and built in South Africa by Maxim Yachts Durban, SA. She has a luxurious interior with 2 queen sized Cabins and 2 heads. This boat has been very well maintained comes fully equipped and ready to sail away. These are very strong, capable, and fast cruising cats with tons of storage and ample living space.

This is a custom Maxim 380. It essentially has 2 owners cabins. The starboard hull contains a dedicated master suite with a queen sized bed, library, spacious bathroom, and plenty of storage. There is no rear berth on the starboard side, it’s a second large head. Very close to a mirror of the owners side, with slightly less locker space due to other boat mechanics in the way. All cabins feature hanging lockers and plenty of storage. All spaces are modern, light and well ventilated. S/V Happy Daze is a well maintained 2001 Maxim 380 that is ready to cruise. This yacht was never chartered. Original owner had it custom built to their specs and sailed her extensively in the Caribbean and US coast. At 60’ tall and under 4’ draft it is ICW friendly, yet capable and comfortable in open water. She is rigged for single hand sailing with all lines and sheets handled from the cockpit. Helm is well protected from step-elevated position in cockpit pre-fitted for a full dodger, giving full visibility of all four corners.

The vessel is hand laid-up GRP construction with polyester resin. The boat has forward water tight compartments with horizontal bulkheads and skeg supported rudders. This is well constructed of FRP and is easily sailed by two people to get to those far off safe anchorages. The galley is located on the port side of the bridge deck and has a large four burner stovetop and separate oven. It has a front loading refrigerator and a huge top loading freezer. The starboard U-shaped salon is comfortable for the entire crew, and contains plenty of storage underneath. It faces aft to the Nav station, which is equipped with a 110v AC/12v DC LCD TV with integrated DVD player. This makes a great setup for movie night! The cockpit has all lines and controls run aft which leaves little to no reason to leave the safety of the cockpit while underway or anchoring. This catamaran is rigged for single hand sailing and all lines and sheets are handled from the cockpit. She is a terrific cruising boat and is ready to go. She was repowered and had updated electronics installed in 2015. Sails replaced sails in 2021 with sails made by Mack Sails (Florida) including a new stack pack and Tide Marine sail track. Standing rigging inspection and bottom paint completed in 2020, and running rigging was replaced in 2021. Hazy Daze has been well maintained and is ready for your winter cruising season. Includes dinghy with 15hp Yamaha 2-stroke motor, and good set of spares and tools. She has cavernous storage area under each of the queen berths, in addition to the abundant lockers throughout. Under engine power, she cruises comfortably over 6 knots at 2,500 RPM. She has a custom ordered Stainless Steel rear arch with rigid solar panel mounted, it also serves as the dinghy davit. S/V Happy Daze is currently in Florida and comes ready to cruise with an Aluminum hull RIB dinghy w/15hp, repowered in 2015 with 2 x Yanmar 3YM30AE diesel engines, 500 watts of solar panels on Bimini, a Kinetics Wind Generator, as well as many other upgrades and system improvements. In 2022, the rear arch was added with 1200 watts of rigid solar panels with MPPT Victron controllers, a new Victron Multiplus 3000 inverter/charger, and 900 amp/hours of new Li-FE batteries with Victron smart monitor/controller. All Victron devices networked for Bluetooth control and monitoring. This is a well-cared for vessel in great condition and equipped with many improvements made during boat ownership.

Working with Andrew Hodgdon at The MultiHull Company was a great experience. Andrew has years of experience in the multihull market, especially performence catamarans and was the Technical Director at Balance Catamarans for many years. He’s always available to talk, guide and advise. He’s easy to work with, is extremely knowledgeable, and has a very pleasant way about him. I would highly recommend Andrew to help in your sale or purchase of any multihull.

Working with Will, Andrew Holland and Andrew Hodgdon to sell my Balance 442 was such a pleasure. No one knows multihulls as well as Andrew Hodgdon, especially performance cats like a Balance. As Technical Director of Balance for many years, Andrew knows all of the nuances of that type of boat, as well as the other brands in the category.
