ELIXIR | 2024 Balance 442

Saint George, GD

About

ELIXIR is among the first Balance 442's to hit the pre-owned market!

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a gorgeous example of the award-winning Balance 442, a modern daggerboard equipped performance catamaran.ELIXIR is in impeccable condition and fully equipped for immediate live aboard sailing. These amazing yachts are built in Cape Town, South Africa and ELIXIR is hull #9 of this coveted high-performance brand.Earlier this year, ELIXIR made her maiden voyage across the southern Atlantic from Cape Town to Grenada. She is now strategically positioned just south of the hurricane belt and ready to jump off for a full season of Caribbean cruising.

The original design premise for the Balance 442 was to create a catamaran that had wonderful sailing characteristics with luxurious and comfortable accommodations but was also set up to be easily operated by a retired couple. Therefore, these performance cruising vessels are equipped with powerful sail plans and daggerboards which allow them to sail circles around the competition while still being easily managed for shorthanded operation. As the name suggests, it is the perfect balance of sporty sailing characteristics and liveaboard comfort.

Balance Catamarans are well known for their stunning designs, exceptional build quality, and gorgeous fit and finish. They feature industry leading technology such as their signature VersaHelm steering system, Integrel charging technology, carbon fiber reinforced daggerboards, Ullman ASDL tri-radial laminate sails, state-of-the-art electronics suites, etc.The build process for these fantastic vessels incorporates Balances Carbon Cross design and construction techniques whichutilizes E-glass fiberglass with significant Carbon Fiber reinforcement in the high load areas of the hulls and decks. Every Balance 442 is hand laminated and vacuum bagged with vinylester outer skin resin over closed cell foam cores. The end result is a lightweight, stiff, and robust vessel built for world voyaging.

ELIXIR has a 3-cabin Owners Version layout that is tastefully appointed with several custom touches, a stunning green exterior hull color, and an extensive list of factory options. She sports all the most modern equipment available for a liveaboard voyager.Several of her equipment highlights include:

  • 48V Victron Lithium House Battery Bank
  • Integrel Charging System on both engines 2 x 9kW Capacity
  • 2000 Watts of Solar
  • Spectra Cape Horn Watermaker
  • Air Conditioning / Heating throughout - DC high efficiency units can run directly off the batteries
  • Ullman Performance Sail Package including Code D and Parasailor Spinnaker
  • Raymarine Electronics Suite including Autopilot, Radar, AIS, etc.
  • Samsung Washer / Dryer
  • ... And so much more!

ELIXIR is being sold in The Multihull Company Premier Program which ensures the vessels exceptional condition and after-sales support for the new owner. Unfortunately the current owners have experienced a change of circumstances that will not allow them to realize their cruising dreams. But with less than a year of sea time and a few thousand miles under her hulls, ELXIR is very lightly used with all the new boat kinks worked out. She is currently hauled out in Grenada and in turn key condition!A buyer could splash her the day after closing and head off into the sunset.

ELIXIR is available for in-person showings by appointment.

We take pride in our happy customers

My wife and I worked with Andrew Hodgdon to sell our 2021 FP Elba 45. In addition to skillfully carrying out the traditional yacht broker responsibilities, Andrew went above-and-beyond to ensure that we were well-positioned to sell in a competitive market. For example, Andrew helped out with much-appreciated repairs and hurricane prep, among other things. Trustworthy, intelligent, and conscientious, Andrew’s communications with us and the buyer were always thoughtful and forward-thinking, and fairly represented our interests.

We really lucked out in connecting with The Multihull Company. We made a cold call to Cynthia Wummer, a Multihull Company broker and told her we wanted to buy a catamaran to cruise The Great Loop and experience the Bahamas. We particularly wanted a PDQ power catamaran. From our first contact she was so helpful and responsive. She immediately contacted a selling broker who represented a prospective seller. Because we are new to a bigger boat and boating on the ICW, Cynthia assisted us through the entire process. She is a captain which was an added bonus to the process; she knew all the right questions to ask the selling broker as well as the surveyor. She drove 3 hours to be present during the survey, she developed a good relationship with the selling broker, she called and checked in with us regularly, was very enthusiastic about our purchase, and answered all our questions. We could not have done it without her. The Multlihull Company support team, Andrew Holland and Courtney Greider, were so helpful in the closing process: the paperwork was easy to complete and communication was smooth and timely. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Multihull Company and Cynthia to anyone who is the market for a boat large or small. Thank you!!!!

Mike Streng did an excellent job of taking care of us and answering all our questions and concerns.

Working with their brokers and their administrative team was easy. Communication occurred at every level and constructive advise was always given. They know this business inside and out and acted as my fiduciary in every way. I will use them again for their service and knowledge.
