Cool Change is the most upgraded Leopard 46/47 available on the market today. Her unique history has ensured that she has remained in impeccable condition while being extensively upgraded throughout her life. To start, she has the distinction of only being in the Moorings crewed charter fleet for a brief 6 months before her original owners took her out and decided to owner/captain. For the next 6 years, they lived aboard and occasionally owner/chartered her. This means that she has seen much less traffic than a similar boat that spent several years in the charter fleet. I had the good fortune of being an exchange student Bairnsdale Australia in my teens. This was the home town of Lock Crowther. Lock designed catamarans and trimarans that could sail! His designs owned all of the records at the local Yacht Clubs and I caught the multihull fever. Lock Crowther's career became one of the most influential of the multihull renaissance with more than 2500 of his designs built - including the first Catana.

Now I get to broker these amazing catamarans and a Crowther 40 Spindrift has landed at my docks. It is sleek. It is light with Klegecell clos . . . more

PDQ built very high quality boats in Whitby Ontario from the late 1980s until 2004. They set out to build cruising cats, not charter cats, and they built them to a high standard with seakeeping and owner's comforts in mind. The hulls are solid fiberglass below the waterline and cored with Klegacell or Corecell foam above. Vacuum bagging was used to ensure uniform resin flow. Cruising cats need to be as light for performance, but strong enough to withstand the stresses of two hulls. The decks are also foam cored, except in areas where high-load fittings are attached. Those areas are solid fib . . . more
