She sailed from South Africa many years ago. A shake-out to the Seychelles, then back round across the Atlantic through the Caribbean and Panama and out into the Pacific. She was set on a circumnavigation but wouldn't leave the Pacific until she saw Alaska. Crewed by a husband and wife she proved an intrepid sailing platform. Virgin Fire is a legendary trimaran built at Gold Coast Yachts. The boat is large, simple, powerful, easy to sail, and very fast. I have been lucky enough to sail this boat off and on for many years, and have just been so impressed with it. I remember being in Boston, going out to the start of a big open 60 race, leaving the dock with all the press people and photographers aboard, and getting a puff of wind, and watching the boat jump to 19 knots. This Crowther Buccaneer is a very fast coastal cruising trimaran. She's been extended to 34' from the original 33' and has wing decks instead of only open webbing extending to the akas which creates a much more accommodating interior. Fast, level sailing in a practical and economical package - the F-27 is a flat out fun boat. So much fun that it is in the American Sailboat Hall of Fame. This is a nice example of the F-27 with accommodation for two in the main cabin, one in the fore peak and one (or a cozy two) in the aft cabin. A compact galley is to port of the companionway and a marine head is located in the forepeak cabin.
