Here you have a top flight, cruise-equipped Saint Francis 48 that would cost you a million dollars to replace. Simplicity is just a loaded up aboat in excellent condition, cruise equipped for the serious live-aboard voyager.
The owner of Simplicty is a very experienced sailor who has owned a few smaller catamarans and bought Simplicity as a bit of an experiment: Would he and his wife and two young boys enjoy living and voyaging full time on a catamaran? The answer was yes, in fact the answer was an affirmative exclamation point, so he and his wife have decided to go ahead and buy a much larger cat to continue their family adventures. They are not selling Simplicity because they do not love her, in fact they do. But as they move their family business onboard, with the need for two computer work stations and all the boys' home schooling materials, they need an even bigger cat.
The owner bought Simplicity from us a year or so ago, but she had been neglected for a few years and needed a refit, so he commenced to go over her with a fine tooth comb, adding on new sails and a large bowsprit and screecher, upgrading the electronics, putting on two new rudders, and on and on. He's spent a pretty penny on her to bring her up to a very high standard and she is now a totally turn-key voyager. Just go over her inventory and you will get the picture.
Simplicty's interior woodwork and cabinets are in top shape, look fantastic, and overall she is showing superb. In my view, the St. Francis 48/50 is a very good compromise cat for serious voyagers - she has the strength and quality to go anywhere and very good overall performance. She has good underwing clearance, nice deck and handling ergonomics, and is a foam core hull. Her furniture and cabinets are to a much higher standard than you find on most of the French production cats as well - she has a yachty feel inside, with real teak and holly floors. These are yachts you can really sail anywhere safely and in great comfort.
