Being there for her launch and having sold her to her two previous owners, I can say without doubt that Manga Rosa is the finest St Francis 44 MkII ever launched!

Whilst St Francis Marine is renowned for building top quality, ocean-going catamarans, her first owner decided he wanted to take the best and make it even better. Lighter, stronger and with the best finishes possible. Hull, deck and modules were supplied by St Francis Marine and the rest was completed by High Tech Yachts in Cape Town, specialists in custom composite yachts. What followed, was a truly remarkable example of a 44 MK II. Instead of the usual rough fairing and stipple painting of the interior fibreglass surfaces, as is the norm, her owner wanted perfectly faired interior surfaces. The result is a hugely labour intensive, beautifully faired interior with a very smooth matt finish. Her joinery is top quality. An aesthetically pleasing, custom designed and professionally built foam core bimini top was added to finish her off. She is certainly one of a kind and a must see!

Manga Rosa, originally Utopia, remained virtually unused, yet professionally maintained, until 2012. She still had that factory-new smell and her engines had under 300hrs! She then sailed from Cape Town to the Caribbean, followed by a crossing to Europe. Her current owner has sailed her back to the Caribbean.

It is claimed that of all production catamaran builders, St Francis Marine has the highest percentage of boats built, completing circumnavigations. Exceptional seaworthiness, ease of handling and proven design and construction, makes this boat the ideal choice for those sailors wanting to explore well off the beaten path.

With plenty of solar, wind charger, water maker, lithium battery and much more, Manga Rosa is ready to take her next lucky owner on new adventures.
