Shuttleworth Performance Cruiser - “Life's a Dream ”
The ability to accelerate is critical to a multihull's safety at sea. Life's A Dream's owner found production designs wanting and had her custom designed by John Shuttleworth to epitomize a strong, light, buoyant, weatherly performance cruising catamaran. She was professionally built in South Africa with her owner intent on a circumnavigation. Now that circumnavigation is complete, the design and build well proven, and she is ready to go again.
Life's A Dream has beautiful wind and water shedding lines. Daggerboards, dual helms, self tacking headsail - everything to make her a fast, responsive and easily managed at sea. Sail Magazine attested to her performance in their 2007 review, "As the gusts swept down Table Bay and nailed the big cat, it would simply accelerate and flick a bit of spray off the leward hull. Mast fittings allow halyard and reef functions to be optionally brought back to either helm stations. |
Bimini Cover with full side curtains The cockpit is covered by a overhead platform that extends all the way back to the targa arch on the stern. There are screens and covers that can be used to protect the area from sun and weather. |
