  • We have taken the boat in France in 2009 directly from the Lagoon shipyard. In summer 2009 we sailed from France over Portugal and Spain to the Canary Islands. In November 2009 we sailed with the ARC over the Atlantic to the Caribbean/St Lucia. Until May 2012, we have sailed in the Eastern Caribbean (Grenada to Virgin Islands). Since July 2012, we are during the wintertime (November-May) in the Exumas / Bahamas and in the summer at the US East Coast.

  • From the day on when the owner took over the boat from the Lagoon Boatyard, all required maintenance on engine and boat technique was performed to fulfill manufactures guarantee obligations. In addition, the yacht was maintained and serviced by the owners well above this level.  Sailing Routes were always planned in a way, that made it possible to consult recommended and certified companies for necessary maintenance.  Once every year the yacht comes out of the water, intakes and seacocks get inspected,  Hull gets cleaned and polished and bottom gets a new antifouling. Engine, sail drive, Rigging winches etc. are maintained and serviced well beyond the requirements of the manufacturers also. The bilges are dry and the boat has no unpleasant odors. It always has been avoided, that textile when been contacted with salt water, came in the cabins so it prevented the forming of moisture mold and mildew. When selecting care-, cleaning-, and polishing products we was always focused to protect the boat in a way that maintain the long term value. To date, the owners are able to proudly present their boat in nearly new condition.

The Vanora is a very special Lagoon 420. After we had won the Multihull division when crossing the Atlantic with the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) 2009, we became a Lagoon flagship. So we have been supported until recently by the Lagoon company far beyond the usual warranty.  The Yacht is set up for long range cruising. Large solar panel array combined with Wind generator make the yacht energy- independent: Since the owners are used to sail in isolated areas like Caribbean/Exumas, the boat carries all necessary Spare parts, to be prepared for all possible needs.
