Gemini 105M - “I Do Not ”

I Do Not . . . . know of a better value for cruising the protected waters of the Northwest than a Gemini Catamaran. They are such easy keepers. Easy to handle. Easy to moor. They fit in most 40' slips and some 35' slips which makes mooring a breeze. And they have the most well thought out accommodations I've found in a small cat.

I Do Naut. . . these Geminis are super economical with the 27 hp Westerbeke pushing the boat at about 7.5 knots while burning a mere half gallon of diesel an hour. They sail well upwind with their retractable centerboards and drivelegs. With centerboards and rudders retracted they can slip into water as skinny as 18". This Gemini has all of the characteristics that allow for great nautical adventures in the Pacific Northwest.

I Do Knot. . . Geminis are very simple catamarans to handle and maintain. Their masthead rig yields plenty of power. The 150% genoa provides drive and is easily furled as the wind picks up. Lazy Jacks make raising and lowering the main easy. The helm and sheets are easily tended by a single crew. The Gemini 105M is a great starter catamaran, easy to handle, and a great learning platform for sharpening seamanship skills.

I Do Naught. . . There is nothing quite like sitting on the foredeck of a Gemini on a sunny day, leaning back against the coachroof beneath the Genoa with the autopilot remote in-hand listening to her sweet sounds as she gently makes way. This is a wonderful experience. She'll slip into the most protected of anchorages - close to shore if the anchorage is crowded. Just raise the boards and rudders and you'll always find a spot to relax and Do Naught.
