Fortuna Island Spirit - “Windflower ”

Fortuna Island Spirit - “Windflower ”

Island Spirit 37 WINDFLOWER is a surprisingly light, quick cruiser that will take you anywhere in exceptional comfort. Her 22 foot beam and 6'6" headroom offer the interior volume of a 45 foot cat. Her layout includes 4 cabins and 2 heads.

WINDFLOWER has been carefully equipped by seasoned sailors to carry the essentials for blue-water voyaging, without compromising sailing performance: water-maker, water catchment system, large fuel capacity, solar on hard-top bimini, wind generator, SSB, AIS, shoreside A/C, large bowsprit and two spinnakers to handle a variety of wind conditions. This is a sailor's cat: have a look at the attached videos of WINDFLOWER sailing under reefed genoa in a breeze and under spinnaker in light airs. She is foremost fun to sail.

An excellent opportunity to take over a well-maintained and bluewater specified cat at a very attractive price. WINDFLOWER is lying in Ft. Lauderdale and sellers are keen.

NOT FOR SALE IN U.S. WATERS TO U.S. RESIDENTS.

Hull Design and Manufacture

Island Spirit 37 Catamaran. Built by Fortuna Catamarans in Cape Town, South Africa, 2001.

  • Hulls are monolithic below the waterline (i.e. solid GRP below the waterline and Balsa Core elsewhere).
  • 4 double cabins, 2 heads, galley up.
  • Several coats of International epoxy barrier coats on the hulls.
  • Designed by Phil Southwell.
  • Fibreglass hard top bimini made from Corecell foam and GRP.
  • 4 separate water tanks.
  • Cabin top has a moulded rainwater catching system built-in.

Owner's comments: "This Island Spirit is well set up for long-distance cruising or living aboard off the grid.. Totally power positive, no gen set required. With the rainwater catching system and the water-maker driven off the 12volts there is no need to go to marinas and we hardly ever do. The folding props give her an extra turn of speed, when sailing and motoring."
