This beautiful Fusion 40 will be exhibited on the water at the Seattle Boat Show January 27th-February 4th. Come see for yourself what makes this Fusion exceptional.
Fusions are light, strong catamarans with a surprising amount of comfortable accommodation inside. Gary Litgard's design for the Fusion 40 was truly a fusion of the best Australian catamaran design concepts. Fusions have a central electric winch in the cockpit as innovated by Lock Crowther and commonly seen on Catanas. They have an Owner's Hull layout with huge aft owner's shower & head very much like that of the successful Perry 43. And they have a 'barn door' cockpit/salon integration and protective hard bimini similar to Seawinds. Litgard added a galley up and surprisingly good CAD assisted ergonomics to the package and integrated everything into a sleek and seakindly profile.
The Achilles Heel of Fusions has always been that they are hull, deck, and bulkhead kit boats. Many were built by individuals with little or no experience and the workmanship, interiors, wiring, equipment, and overall quality varied. Not so with Boomerang. She was professionally built in Florida to a very high standard. Her hulls were launched in November of 2007 and she was rigged and commissioned in January 2008. She is optioned with a carbon forward beam, integral carbon chainplates, and carbon reinforced daggerboards in Kevlar trunks. She has a beautiful fat topped load-path main, jib, and furling screecher on a folding bowsprit and an asymmetrical spinnaker. Her interior surfaces are elegantly chosen and installed. Workmanship throughout is excellent. She is very well equipped from her sophisticated touch screen electrical management system (with manual backups near at hand) to her hydronic diesel fired heating system that keeps her comfortable for year-round cruising. She is now lying Seattle, WA upwind and up-current of the Pacific cruising grounds and at the foot of the Inside Passage with excellent downtown moorage.
