WHITE MAGIC is a 3-cabin (owner's version), beautifully appointed and generously equipped Catana 52. A large number of recent photos in our gallery will help you better appreciate this vessel's layout, amenities and condition. The Catana 52 offers the legendary performance of the Catana 47 in a larger format with more payload capacity for voyaging, a larger U-shaped galley, more storage and larger interior volumes.
The impressive list of upgrades and options was selected by an uncompromising blue water sailor for performance ocean voyaging. WHITE MAGIC received a new LORIMA carbon mast in 2010, new carbon "canoe" boom, all new (2010) NAVTEC Kevlar shrouds, new head stays and new PROFURL roller furlers. New sails by QUANTUM include a high-aspect, tri-radial cut SPECTRA main, SPECTRA genoa and KEVLAR-MYLAR gennaker. Large 78 HP engines by Volvo pushing 3-blade folding props will keep this yacht running at 9 to 10 kts cruising speeds when the zephyrs are absent or drive it off a dangerous leeshore when needed. A full suite of RAYMARINE nav electronics with repeators at each helm station and cockpit bulkhead, SIMRAD autopilot with control heads at each helm and electric throttles at each helm highlight the top notch electronics.
The open 3 cabin, 3 head interior is finished in varnished cherry. Interior systems strike a careful balance between comfort, redundancy and light weight: these include a NORTHERN LIGHTS generator (4.5 KVA), MARINE AIR air conditioning in salon and owner stateroom, 6 x 110W solar panels, SPECTRA 60L/H watermaker, 2 x 100 liter refrigerators, 1 x 100 liter freezer, 3 burner FORCE 10 stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and 2 x EBERSPRACHER heaters provide full comfort in cooler climates. New barrier coat and bottom paint August 2011.
